Ferrari 360 CoupeFor It's as civilised as it is breathtakingly fast
Against Expensive in every department
Verdict Still one of the best supercars there is

Replacing a car like the Ferrari 355 was never going to be an easy task, but with the 360, Ferrari managed to improve on what seemed to be perfection.
The 360 provides all the raw driving pleasure of its predecessor: the V8 performance is nothing short of awesome; the heart-racing acceleration matched only by the glorious soundtrack that accompanies it. Thanks to the mid-engined layout, the balance and poise are superb, and while the ride is a touch firm around town, you'd expect that.
Where the 360 improves on the past, though, is in its refinement. When your right foot isn't making every effort to make the engine howl, the 360 is an impressively civilised supercar.
With build quality and interior finish also being a vast improvement on older Ferraris, the 360 is an incredible machine, even by today's standards.

Chrysler 300C Saloon3 out of 5 stars
For It's got enormous presence, an enormous cabin and powerful engines
Against It's expensive to run, repair costs are high and it has a fidgety low-speed ride
Verdict The 300C is a breath of fresh air in a rather staid executive market

Go for… 3.0 V6 CRD

Big, bold and menacing-looking, the Chrysler 300C is related to the previous-shape Mercedes E-Class, but doesn’t hide its American heritage. It certainly has plenty of presence on the road and tempts buyers by offering lots of kit for their cash.
Performance is never in short supply, whichever engine you choose, and the 300C is pretty refined, although it can’t match the silky smoothness of a Jag.
On the road, the Chrysler always feels like a big car, which isn’t surprising given its weight and length. That said, it feels assured through a series of fast, sweeping bends, although the body control could be better over poor surfaces.
Drivers will have no problem getting comfortable in the roomy cabin, although the comparatively small windscreen and big screen pillars restrict visibility. The huge boot easily copes with a family’s holiday luggage, and every model is generously equipped.

Range Rover Limo Hire

For The Range Rover has fabulous on-road ride and refinement for such a big car, together with immense capability in the mud. It is also truly luxurious and has a beautifully built cabin.

Against It's big, as you find out when you try to park it, and access to the rear is only mediocre. Expect huge running costs.

Performance

Review-OnRoad

There are two engine options – a supercharged 5.0-litre V8 petrol and a 4.4-litre V8 turbodiesel. The petrol engine is particularly quick because it produces a whopping 503bhp, but the 309bhp diesel is also capable of shifting the Range Rover's substantial bulk with impressive pace. The petrol comes with a six-speed automatic gearbox as standard, while the diesel's box has eight speeds.

Ride & Handling

Considering its abilities off-road, the Range Rover does an amazing job of protecting its passengers from rutted Tarmac - it’s a 4x4 limo. Some clever adaptive suspension technology means it rides superbly and the shortage of body lean is amazing for such a tall, heavy car.

The Range Rover's petrol engine is smooth and quiet, aside from an appealing whine from the supercharger when you accelerate hard. With the diesel, only a low-rev grumble and faint burble from the four-wheel-drive system enter the cabin. Road noise is well filtered out, but the Range Rover's large, upright body creates some wind noise at motorway pace.

Fresh from a mid-life facelift, the new Range Rover Sport is here. The big news is that it's got the supercharged 5.0-litre V8 from the Jaguar XKR. Which means 503bhp - that's more power than a Cayenne Turbo - and a sub-six-second 0-60mph time.

Oh, and it'll lap the Nurburgring in under nine minutes. Whether that's an appropriate thing for a big SUV to be doing is quite another matter, but you can't deny it's an impressive stat.

If you require a bit more social acceptability from your RRS, you can also have it in 3.0-litre V6 turbodiesel flavour, as seen in the stunning Jag XF Diesel S. It puts out 242bhp and, more significantly, a punchy 443lb ft of torque. It'll also manage just over 30mpg, some eight per cent better than the old 2.7-litre V6 diesel, which developed a measly 188bhp. The Rangey Sport is still available with the old 3.6-litre V8 diesel, but the one you really want is the V6.

The RRS has received a whole load of visual tweaks, too, with a narrow grille and squarer headlights and taillights featuring something the LR designers call‘a two-bar motif'. It looks sharp. It looks good.

On-road manners should be improved courtesy of a new continuously variable damping system, active anti-roll bars and upgraded brakes.

LR assures us that ‘over 3,000' components have been revised on the Range Rover Sport (a shiny penny to anyone who can name them all!), with the aim of providing a clearer differentiation between the keep-it-on-the-road Sport and the take-it-anywhere Range Rover, which has also been facelifted, along with the Land Rover Discovery.

The big Range Rover gets a plusher interior and the same 5.0-litre V8 - but no 3.0-litre V6 diesel - while the Discovery 4 gets a detuned verson of the big V8 putting out 375bhp.

We'll see all the new Landies in the UK this summer. Prepare the spray-on mud.
